E D Skinner
Edward Draper Skinner’s career took him around the world writing and teaching software for embedded computers. (Those are the ones that land airplanes, stop your car, and keep a patient alive during surgery.)
He retired from that at the end of 2014 and began working his way through an accumulated list of Things I Always Wanted To Do But Couldn’t. Some were completed in short order and a couple were struck off as impractical or no longer of interest.
But a handful have engaged him ever since. Ed now writes, reads, plays with the family labradoodle, watches classic film noir, and wrestles with the world-wide-web.
Websites
EDSkinner.net is Ed’s writing website. It describes his fictional works.
FYI: It is a static page website. It uses Hugo not Wordpress.
Several domains–flat5.net, ed-skinner.net, and ed-skinner.com–redirect here. (I’d like to have “edskinner.com” as well, but someone beat me to the punch and they’re now squatting on it hoping I’ll fork over a bunch of money to buy it from them. But that ain’t happening, Bucko!)
Flat5.net was Ed’s first website. It used hand-coded HTML content on four pages in 2001, added blogs in 2004 with Wordpress, and in 2023 most of its content was transferred to EDSkinner.net.
